Effective 31 August 2026
Central Coast Aerial Mapping, Inc. ("CCAM," "we," "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what we do not do with it. It covers our website at www.ccaminc.com and our web application at flight-planner.ccaminc.com (the "Application"), which includes the CCAM Flight Planner and the Mapping Limits & Control Check tool.
The short version
The Application has no database. We do not create accounts for you, we do not keep the files you upload, and we do not sell or share your information. Signing in tells us only your email address, which we use to confirm you are on our access list.
Information you send us through this website
Our Contact and Get A Quote pages have forms. What you type into them — typically your name, company, email address, phone number, and a description of your project — is sent to our business email account so we can reply. We use it to respond to your enquiry and to prepare your estimate, and we keep that correspondence as ordinary business records. We do not add you to a marketing list without your asking, and we do not sell or trade it.
Those forms are protected against automated abuse by Google reCAPTCHA, which collects hardware and software information and sends it to Google for analysis. Its use is subject to the Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and Terms of Service (policies.google.com/terms).
Signing in with Google
Access to the Application is by invitation and is protected by Google Cloud Identity-Aware Proxy. Signing in uses Google OAuth and requests only two scopes, "openid" and "email." That means we receive your email address and confirmation that your Google account signed in successfully.
We do not request, receive, or have any access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, Contacts, Calendar, or any other data in your Google account.
Your email address is used for one purpose: to confirm you are on our access list and to determine which parts of the Application you may use. It is checked as each page loads and is not written to a database, used for marketing, or disclosed to anyone else. CCAM's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Files you upload
The Application lets you upload project boundary files (KMZ or KML) and surveyed control files (plain text). These are processed in temporary storage to draw your map and build the file you download, then deleted when the request finishes. They are not written to a database or any long-term storage, and they are not used for any purpose other than returning your result. Files you save or export are written to your own computer.
If you are a CCAM client, the project files you send us in the ordinary course of business are of course kept and used to prepare your estimate and deliverables. This section describes the Application, which does not retain them on its own.
The "Email to CCAM" button opens a message in your own email program, addressed to us, naming the file you just saved. The Application does not send email on your behalf and has no ability to do so. If you choose to send the message, we receive it as we would any other email.
Map and reference data
To draw the map and look up public reference information, the Application requests data from third-party services. What is sent to them is the geographic area you are viewing — coordinates — and, if you use the address search, the text you type. Your identity and your uploaded files are never sent to them.
These services include Google (aerial imagery), Esri and ArcGIS Online, OpenStreetMap, the U.S. Geological Survey (elevation and hydrography), the U.S. Census Bureau (address lookup), the Federal Aviation Administration (airspace), and California county GIS services (parcel boundaries). Each has its own privacy practices, which we do not control.
Cookies and browser storage
This website runs on WordPress and is hosted by Bluehost. It uses cookies only where they are needed to make the site work and keep it secure — our security plugin (Wordfence) and Google reCAPTCHA both set cookies for that purpose. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or website analytics.
In the Application, Google Identity-Aware Proxy sets a session cookie that is required to keep you signed in, and the Application saves one display preference in your browser's local storage: the width of the side panel. Nothing else.
Logs
Our hosting providers — Google Cloud for the Application, Bluehost for this website — keep standard operational logs on our behalf — request times, IP addresses, error messages and similar — which we use to keep the service running and to diagnose problems. We do not build user profiles from them.
How we share information
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share it only with the providers that run our infrastructure (Google Cloud), only as needed to operate the service, or where we are required to do so by law.
Security
The Application is not public. Every request must pass Google sign-in and an explicit access list before it reaches our servers, and all traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Because we do not store your files or maintain user accounts, there is very little held that could be exposed.
Your choices
You may ask us at any time to remove your access, or to tell you what information we hold about you — in most cases the answer is your email address on an access list and nothing more. Write to mail@ccaminc.com.
Children
Our website and the Application are business tools and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will post the revised version on this page with a new effective date.
